Schedule: M-F, 8:30am - 5pm
Must have a reliable car for home visits.
Bilingual skills required (Spanish).


Salary range: $62,400 - $70,000.


Job Summary

Parents as Teachers is a trusted resource providing an evidence-based home visiting model for organizations and professionals who meet the evolving needs of families. The program is embedded within the Pediatric Practice at the MGH Revere HealthCare Center.

The Parents as Teachers Parent Educator is responsible for parent education to help parents understand their role in encouraging their child's development from the beginning. The goals of the program include enhanced parent involvement, improved child health and development, and increased school readiness. This program includes visits with parents at home and at the Health Center, conducting risk assessments for families served by the program, and connecting parents to community resources to promote strengthening positive parent-child interactions, educating parents on development-centered parenting, and supporting overall family well-being. This also includes working collaboratively with the Healthy Steps staff to ensure comprehensive service delivery for families served by the program. The position may include assistance with additional projects as assigned by the Unit Chief and/or Program Manager.


Qualifications

Education
- Bachelor or four-year degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a related field.

- Supervised experience working with young children and families.
- Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish or Arabic).
