Job Summary
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Executive Chef and Food Service Supervisor, the Cook is responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving meals to patients, staff, visitors, and the community. The role ensures food quality, safety, and compliance with dietary and regulatory standards while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare daily meals, specials, and catering items according to recipes and dietary guidelines.
Adjust food production based on patient census and retail volume.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, department, and regulatory food safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment (e.g., slicers, mixers, refrigeration units).
Attend department meetings, in-services, and training sessions as required.
Demonstrate a positive, customer-focused attitude; respond to customer needs and resolve concerns.
Clean and restock workstations after each meal service.
Communicate any concerns, product shortages, or discrepancies to supervisors.
Support department goals related to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Exhibit flexibility by adjusting schedules and responsibilities based on department needs.
Use products and time efficiently, promoting a cost-conscious work ethic.
