The Director, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) is the subject matter expert and key contributor for BILH IT, ensuring enterprise-wide business resiliency. The Director, BC/DR will utilize various methods such as robust table-top exercises, to build consensus, strengthen the BC/DR program, and educate both technical and non-technical staff and leadership on applicable policies and procedures. The Director, BC/DR will work closely with departments across the enterprise to coordinate efforts and processes to maintain an acceptable risk level and recover from service-impacting events. This role is primarily remote, with occasional on-site presence required (e.g., some tabletop exercises may be conducted on-site, or the response to emergency incidents/outages may involve an in-person command center).

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Work with all functional business areas to develop and maintain an enterprise-wide BC/DR program
2. Design and outline the organization’s BC/DR goals, objectives, and scope for the program
3. Liaise with key infrastructure teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives, and convey business needs/expectations
4. Identify and make recommendations for change and adaptation to overcome infrastructure challenges and meet the needs of the business
5. Develop and execute the maintenance and testing processes for the program
6. Execute and manage the BC/DR plan during a crisis
7. Design and facilitate tests and tabletop exercises, including “post mortem” sessions and metrics to drive continuous improvement, optimization, and expansion of the BC/DR plan
8. Facilitate “Lessons Learned” and “Root Cause Analysis” sessions
9. Provide visibility and reporting to leadership
10. Foster a team approach across the enterprise for both IT and business areas

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

  • Certification in business continuity (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, or similar)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or a related area

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery principles, concepts, and best practices
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in using business continuity software and tools
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses
  • Ability to develop and conduct training sessions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage crisis situations effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Ability to interpret, edit, and create network and dataflow diagrams as necessary
  • Experience in liaising with external partners and vendors
  • Ability to prepare and present reports to senior management
  • Strong understanding of IT systems and data recovery processes
  • Must stay updated on industry trends and emerging threats
  • Ability to travel as needed for business continuity activities and incident response (BILH locations)
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours during emergency incidents, events or disruptions

Pay Range:

$176,800.00 USD - $205,920.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
