Senior Electrical Estimator

Gpac is a national executive search firm specializing in recruitment for the electrical construction industry. We have been retained by a local electrical contractor in the area to find a Senior Electrical Estimator to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop comprehensive and competitive bids
  • Conduct detailed take-offs, ensuring accurate material and labor cost estimates
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Analyze historical cost data and supplier pricing to improve estimating accuracy
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs to verify project conditions
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing
  • Oversee junior estimators, providing mentorship and technical guidance
  • Collaborate on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and efficiency
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, industry regulations, and contract requirements

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor
  • Expertise in estimating commercial, industrial, and institutional projects
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or Conest
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and cost control
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts with precision
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Stable work history
  • Previous experience in a leadership or senior estimating role
