Posting Description
TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Earth, Atmospheric & Planetary Sciences, will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations, conducting experiments and data analysis. Collect and analyze carbon, nutrients, and other chemical and microbial parameters of environmental and laboratory samples. Responsibility will include routine tasks such as sample analysis, recording results in laboratory notebooks and electronic databases; oversee the maintenance of instruments, laboratory supplies inventory, and assistance with the disposal of chemical and hazardous waste. Occasional extended field trips for environmental sampling may be required.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in chemical or environmental science or closely related field; well-organized and able to multi-task in a high throughput work environment; experience with data analysis, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail and protocols; familiarity with and a strong track record of adhering to laboratory safety protocols (EHS); ability to work both independently and as part of a team. PREFERRED: Experience in oceanography.
