ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Scheller Teacher Education Program (STEP), to support a team of researchers, designers, content managers, developers, and project managers with day-to-day office support tasks for our research lab of 25 staff and students. Responsibilities include: serve as an assistant to the lab directors, such as calendar management and making travel arrangements as needed; organize and execute meeting logistics for lab events, including relation communications; act as point-of-contact for visitors; manage and maintain lab door access for staff, students, and visitors; manage access of shared spaces at our office location; maintain lab communication and related systems, such as email lists, Slack users, and event announcements; and support Communications.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: A minimum of three years in a higher education or corporate office setting; great attention to detail; exceptional organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communications skills; proactive with excellent time management skills; ability to work independently, and proactively problem-solve and follow through on variety of tasks; ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, sponsors, staff and students; and high level of discretion dealing with sensitive and confidential matters. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree; knowledge of Google Suite Software; relevant MIT experience including knowledge of Buy2Pay/COUPA, Concur, VNDLY; experience with managing WordPress websites; and individuals with an interest in STEM education, educational technology and/or games, or dedicated interest in higher education administration.
Temporary, one-year, part-time in-person position (some hybrid flexibility may be possible) with possibility of renewal. 20 hours/week. Must include Wednesdays, other details of schedule TBD.
