Role Summary

The Private Bank Pricing & Profitability Analyst provides advanced analytical and modeling support to the Private Bank Pricing & Profitability team. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and testing pricing and profitability models; producing competitive and performance analytics; and supporting pricing governance and reporting processes.

The Analyst works closely with Pricing & Profitability Managers, Finance, Product, and Risk partners to ensure pricing assumptions are accurate, well-documented, and supported by rigorous data analysis. This role does not set pricing strategy or approve pricing decisions, but plays a critical role in enabling disciplined, data-driven pricing outcomes across the Private Bank’s lending and deposit products.

Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Profitability Analytics

- Build, maintain, and enhance pricing and profitability models for Private Bank lending and deposit products.

- Perform detailed analysis of balances, yields, spreads, margins, returns, and client-level economics.

- Support development of pricing pro formas and what-if analyses for new initiatives and pricing changes.

Back-Testing & Assumption Validation

- Perform back-testing of pricing assumptions, approved deals, and modeled outcomes versus actual performance.

- Identify variances, trends, and root causes; summarize findings for Pricing & Profitability Managers.

- Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and supporting data sources.

Competitive & Market Analysis

- Gather and organize competitive pricing data across markets, products, and client segments.

- Support analysis of competitive positioning and pricing dispersion.

- Monitor market trends that may influence Private Bank pricing strategies.

Reporting & Executive Materials

- Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports and dashboards supporting pricing, profitability, and portfolio performance.

- Prepare analytical content for pricing committees, governance forums, and executive presentations.

- Ensure metrics and reporting are accurate, consistent, and aligned with approved methodologies.

Governance & Process Support

- Support pricing governance processes by preparing data, analysis, and documentation required for approvals.

- Assist with model risk management, audit requests, and validation documentation.

- Ensure analytical processes comply with established controls, policies, and documentation standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Finance, Risk, Product, and Operations teams to source data and validate analytical outputs.

- Support Pricing & Profitability Managers as the primary analytical contributor on cross-functional initiatives.

- Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing analytics tools, models, and processes.

Role Boundaries

- Does not set pricing strategy or approve pricing decisions.

- Does not negotiate pricing or interact directly with clients.

- Pricing authority and governance ownership remain with Pricing & Profitability Managers and leadership.

Qualifications

- Experience in analytics, pricing, profitability, finance, or related roles within banking or financial services.

- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to work with large, complex data sets.

- Experience with Excel, SQL, BI tools, or other analytics platforms as applicable.

- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.

- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights for senior stakeholders.

- Collaborative mindset and comfort working in a regulated, governance-driven environment.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F 8:00-5:00
  • In office 4 days at one of the location(s) listed required/1 day work from home


Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $108,000 per year. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
